On the fifth of this month, Fatiah Olaigbe, a National Diploma 2 Final Year Mass Communication student at the Ogun State Institute of Technology, Igbesa, matriculated into the Lagos State University (LASU) alongside the 6,377 other freshmen.
Fatiah, an Oyo native from the Iddo local government area, took the chance to transfer to the university while attempting to balance the fact that both schools provided English education. Fatiah has an unquenchable passion for fighting and striving to become the person she loves to be.
"I'm a student in my final year of the National Diploma program at the Ogun Institute of Technology in Igbesa. Being an OGITECH student has helped me become more tenacious, dedicated, and goal-oriented as well as more spiritual. - Fatiha
She said, "Right from the start, I never intended to study Mass Communication but Law, though my JAMB score deprived me that spurred me to study Mass Communication here at OGITECH, hoping I would take Jamb again and go for my desired course, and now it yielded a good score to process LASU, which after waiting for months finally gave me ENGLISH EDUCATION."
The OGITECH student informed a MACNEWS reporter that she had to take the English Education course because she likes speaking and writing and because her talent calls for it as she is now studying mass communication at OGITECH.
"I just hope nothing would happen, so I won't have any difficulties to confront, as my final examinations in OGITECH and here at LASU are both clashing right now," she said in closing.
