Itekun river is located at d outskirts of igbesa Ogun state and Lagos state between Isasi and Agelete. Mapcarta.The economic development of itekun community during the past years has not been encouraging
During the course of the interview of residents,it was discovered that since the change of means of transportation on the river in the 1990s the only drastic change that has occurred in the community was in the year 2006 when Ogun State Institute of Technology,Igbesa was founded.
At their most basic level, they are a provider of fresh, safe drinking water. In modern life, rivers are still important for agriculture around the world and are becoming increasingly important in the transport of goods and in the development of hydropower electricity as a renewable energy source.
The itekun occupant have been experiencing lack of many social amenities in terms of good roads ,clean water ,electricity etc.
The community has developed by few percentage due to the massive awareness of the river as a fast means of getting to Lagos by students.
The residents urged the government to fulfill their promise to develop the community to enhance good living and healthy environment.
