Dr. Abiodun Babatunde Oluseye, the recently appointed Rector of the Ogun State Institute of Technology (OGITECH), addressed the student body for the first time in a physical official meeting on Wednesday, September 6th, at the Dapo Abiodun Twin Hall, OGITECH.
In his opening remarks, the Rector extended his appreciation to the students for their presence and recognized the union president and his executive for their diligent efforts in informing and gathering the student community.
Dr. Oluseye conveyed his commitment to addressing various concerns and enhancing the overall learning environment at the institute. He outlined several initiatives, including the clearing of overgrown areas within the campus premises, improving security measures, and making the use of ID cards mandatory to clearly identify staff, students, and visitors.
He further elaborated on the creation of a platform that would involve all relevant stakeholders, including security personnel, landlords, transport providers, and local vendors, to prevent the exploitation of students.
The meeting was attended by key figures within the institution, including the Registrar, Mrs. Sakirat Olajumoke, the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Aminu, and the school Librarian, Mrs. Udi, among others.
Dr. Abiodun Babatunde Oluseye's promises and commitment to effecting positive changes at OGITECH have set a hopeful tone for the future of the institute, as students and staff
eagerly anticipate the implementation of these reforms.
