Three-Year-Old in Desperate Need of N7 Million for Life-Saving Heart Surgery

The family of three-year-old Chidinma Esther Michael is urgently seeking a sum of N7 million to fund a critical hole-in-the-heart surgery. Born on October 11, 2020, in the Egbeda area of Lagos, Chidinma fell seriously ill at just three weeks old, leaving her parents devastated.

Doctors at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idi-Araba, Lagos, delivered a shocking diagnosis, revealing that Chidinma had a severe heart condition—a hole in her heart. This diagnosis left her mother, Mrs. Angela Michael, in distress, as she recalled her own challenging pregnancy.

During her pregnancy, Angela frequently fell ill and even experienced bleeding, which raised concerns for her husband. Despite these difficulties, they were unaware of the impending health crisis their baby would face.

Chidinma's health rapidly deteriorated, prompting her parents to seek medical attention at various hospitals, including LASUTH, Ikeja. However, due to financial constraints exacerbated by the loss of Chidinma's father's job during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, they were unable to proceed with the necessary tests and treatments.

Angela Michael, Chidinma's mother, shared her anguish, saying, "I'm begging every Nigerian and corporate organization to come to the rescue of my child, who needs assistance. The doctor said only surgery could close the hole. $7 million is the bill. That's big money. We don't have that kind of money."

Desperate to save their child's life, the family is now turning to the compassion of fellow Nigerians and organizations for support. The cost of the life-saving surgery hangs in the balance, and every contribution matters in the race against time to secure Chidinma's future.
