TRAGIC HEAD-ON COLLISION ON LAGOS ' THIRD MAINLAND BRIDGE CLAIMS ONE LIFE, INJURES EIGHT

The head-on collision between two commercial buses on Lagos' Third Mainland Bridge, near Ilaje, tragically led to one death and left eight individuals injured on Monday.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) reported that the accident occurred as two Mazda buses, bearing number plates LND 624 YE and EKY 804 YH, engaged in a high-speed chase originating from Adeniji Adele.

Following the incident, LASTMA officials promptly intervened, rescuing eight passengers with severe fractures. The injured individuals were swiftly transported to Gbagada General Hospital via LASAMBUS for urgent medical attention.

Police units from Bariga and Alonge Police Stations played a crucial role in ensuring security during the rescue operation. LASTMA reiterated its dedication to promoting road safety, advising motorists to adhere to speed limits and exercise caution while driving.

The agency also expressed condolences to the bereaved family and extended well wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured individuals.
