Kosofe Local Government in Lagos State has officially launched the fourth edition of its free Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration initiative. Mr. Oluwole Obisanya, the Chief Press Secretary to the council chairman, made the announcement in a statement on Monday in Lagos.

Obisanya highlighted that this initiative reflects the local government's unwavering commitment to advancing academic excellence within the community. "I am pleased to announce the commencement of our fourth edition of free JAMB forms distribution under the Kosofe Edu-Support Initiative, #KosofeConcern," he stated.

To qualify for the initiative, beneficiaries must be residents of Kosofe Local Government Area. To ensure fairness, all applicants will undergo a screening process to determine their eligibility.

The distribution details and eligibility criteria specify that beneficiaries must be 16 years of age or older as of November 2023. Additionally, SS1 and SS2 students are not eligible, and parents or guardians are not permitted in the screening venue.

This initiative not only aims to ease the financial burden on families but also encourages academic pursuits among the youth in the community. By providing free access to UTME registration, the Kosofe Local Government hopes to increase the number of qualified candidates who can further their education and contribute positively to society.

The local government is committed to fostering an environment where education is accessible to all, paving the way for a brighter future for the students of Kosofe.
