Molly Miller, 38, has been named the new head coach of Arizona State's women's basketball program.
Miller brings a wealth of experience to the position, having led Grand Canyon University to a record-breaking season, including a 32-win campaign and the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance. She was also named WAC Coach of the Year. Prior to her time at Grand Canyon, Miller was head coach at Drury University in Missouri.
Miller's move to Arizona State is a significant one, as she will now be coaching in a Power 4 conference. This move signifies her commitment to taking on a new challenge and elevating her coaching career to the next level.
Arkansas ultimately hired Kelsi Musick from Oral Roberts as their new head coach, agreeing to a five-year deal with a total compensation of $600,000 per year. Musick led ORU to its most wins this season, 24, since 1983.
Meanwhile, Molly Miller, who previously led Grand Canyon to its best season as a Division I team, will now lead Arizona State. Miller inherits a Sun Devils team that hasn't been to the NCAA Tournament since 2019 and hasn't enjoyed a winning season since 2020.
Miller's arrival marks a significant change for the program and a chance for her to rebuild a team with a rich history.Other Power 4 openings remain at Houston, BYU, Auburn, and Wisconsin.
