Marvellous David, a National Diploma (ND) Holder, Faculty of School of Communication & Information Technology (SCIT), Department of Mass Communication, Ogun State Institute Igbesa has clinched the overall best graduating student with a cumulative grade point of 3.56 despite two carryovers from the beginning.
As a blessing in disguise, Marvellous described this academic feat as destined by God despite the two carryovers; my first semester 100l result was 3.75 my second-semester result was reduced to 3.58 due to the two carryovers that emanated from two computer-based courses. Thus, the story ended with 3.56.
He said his dream was to study Mass Communication at the prestigious University of Benin but was offered English & Literature, Mosogar Campus in 2019, an affiliation of Uniben, I forfeited it due to my dream & passion for Mass Communication.
Marvellous continued that he was also offered provisional admission at Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijebu, Ogun State to study Yoruba Education, but forfeited due to financial instability.
“I got to know about Ogun State Institute of Technology, Igbesa from a friend like a family, Eniola Oyemade, an alumnus from the department of mass communication 2019/2021 set who encouraged me to purchase the school admission form to study my dream course” – He disclosed
Marvellous David revealed that focus, passion, determination & preparedness were the prime watchword that kept me on the track without derailing even after losing his mother, describing it as part of his promises at the graveyard.
He unveiled that amid his academic quest he received support from family, friends, and well-wishers who stood their ground to invest in him even till the last drop in their bank accounts.
“I’m specially dedicating this huge academic achievement to my late mother, Mrs. Ruth David Adenike Taibat Omo Ogungbemi, the Davids, Olalekans, Alohans, Oyemades, Oguntundes, Udemas, Akinkuroleres, Akinwunmis, Oloyedes, Olowus amongst other”- Marvellous asserted
“I’m also dedicating this academic success to the Department of Mass Communication, Ogun State Institute of Technology, Igbesa who have served me the porridge of good education, media exposure & skill capacity”- he added.
