OGITECH LAUNCHES SOLAR POWERED MICROSCOPY LAB: SLT DEPARTMENT

The Department of Science and Laboratory Technology (SLT) at Ogun State Institute of Technology, Igbesa, has reached a milestone with the unveiling of its state-of-the-art solar-powered microscopy lab.

In a ceremony led by the Rector, Dr. Babatunde Oluseye, on July 22, 2024, the lab showcased cutting-edge equipment, such as a trimocular microscope, three binocular microscopes, and a colony counter.The laboratory is designed to provide students with hands-on experience in scientific research and experimentation, utilizing renewable energy from solar power. 

This innovative approach aligns with the institution's commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.

The lecturers in charge of the laboratory, Dr. Bello, Dr. Ajayi, Miss Mercy Yusuf, and Mr. Sholotan Kazeem, expressed their excitement about the new facility, highlighting its potential to enhance the learning experience for students.

Dr. Oluseye, in his remarks, emphasized the importance of investing in infrastructure and technology to prepare students for the challenges of the 21st century. He commended the SLT department for their dedication to excellence and innovation.
