CORONER FINDS NO DIRECT LINK BETWEEN JEREMY KYLE SHOW APPEARANCE AND STEVE DYMOND'S TRAGIC PASSING

The coroner has determined that there is no definitive connection between Steve Dymond's participation on The Jeremy Kyle Show and his tragic suicide. Dymond, aged 63, was discovered deceased at his residence in Portsmouth, Hampshire, in May 2019, a week subsequent to his unsuccessful lie detector test on the program.

Coroner Jason Pegg has indicated that there was "an absence of reliable evidence" linking the show to Dymond's passing. Pegg also found no substantial proof implicating Jeremy Kyle in Dymond's mental state. Dymond's family has criticized the show, with his son Carl Woolley mentioning the only positive outcome being the show's cancellation.

During the inquest, it was revealed that Dymond had a history of mental health issues and had previously self-harmed or expressed suicidal thoughts. The coroner highlighted that Dymond's decision to end his life was influenced by his mental distress, possibly worsened by relationship issues.

ITV expressed condolences to Dymond's family and highlighted the show's duty of care processes. Jeremy Kyle's representative stated the coroner's verdict "exonerated" Kyle, clearing his name from blame.

The findings from the coroner emphasized the complex nature of mental health struggles and the importance of providing support to individuals facing such challenges.
