Justin Baldoni has accused Blake Lively of holding the rights to use Taylor Swift's song "My Tears Ricochet" in the film It Ends With Us in an effort to influence the editing process.

In court documents filed on January 31, which Baldoni later shared online, the director alleged that Lively utilized her close friendship with Swift during the film's production.

According to the filing, Lively reportedly made a "veiled threat" through a studio executive, indicating she might reconsider reaching out to Swift for the rights to "My Tears Ricochet" for the film's trailer if her demands were not fulfilled. Among these alleged demands were the removal of Baldoni’s “film by” credit from promotional posters and greater access to the editing room with her own personal editor.

These allegations represent a new development in Baldoni’s ongoing legal dispute with Lively, further intensifying the tension between the two co-stars in the upcoming adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel. In the wake of these allegations, the film's production has come under scrutiny, raising questions about the dynamics between the cast and the creative team.

Industry insiders speculate that such tensions could impact the film's release and overall reception, especially given the high expectations surrounding the adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s popular novel. As both parties navigate this legal dispute, fans are left wondering how these developments will affect the final cut of the film and its promotional strategy.
