Abuja, Nigeria – The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has seized substantial quantities of illicit drugs in operations spanning six states: Anambra, Cross River, Nasarawa, Taraba, Ekiti, and Lagos.
In Cross River, operatives intercepted 170,000 Tramadol pills being transported by truck along the Ogoja-Abakaliki Road. At the Apapa Seaport in Lagos, 85,400 bottles of codeine-based syrup were recovered from a container shipped from India.
In Ekiti State, a raid on a drug den in Ikole-Ekiti resulted in the arrest of three individuals and the seizure of 83 kilograms of skunk. A separate operation in Lekki, Lagos, led to the arrest of a 28-year-old woman and the recovery of 169.5 liters of nitrous oxide and 111 grams of Loud (a high-grade cannabis variant).
Jalingo, Taraba State – The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has seized 132.84 kilograms of skunk in Taraba State. Two suspects were arrested in connection with the seizure, which took place in Wukari, Takanaba, and Sabongari within the Jalingo Local Government Area.
The NDLEA reaffirmed its dedication to combating drug abuse and trafficking across Nigeria. Their strategy includes ongoing enforcement operations, public awareness campaigns, and advocacy initiatives targeting schools, religious organizations, workplaces, traditional leaders, and communities.
