ONDO GOVERNOR VOWS TO STRENGTHEN SECURITY AFTER DEADLY ATTACKS

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has pledged to strengthen security measures and equip security agencies to combat rising insecurity in the state, particularly in Akure North Local Government Area.

The governor's assurance comes after a deadly attack last Saturday that left at least 14 people dead in four communities: Ademekun, Aba Pastor, Aba Sunday, and Alajido.  The attack sparked protests from residents, including a demonstration by hundreds of women following the abduction of nine surveyors in Ilu Abo Community. The surveyors were later released.

The regent of Ademekun Community, Princess Kemisola Adelowo, expressed her distress over the killings and called on the state government to deploy security personnel to prevent further assaults.

Governor Aiyedatiwa, addressing journalists, reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and property.

“The Ondo State government has vowed to strengthen security measures following the deadly attacks in Aba Sunday Community. The Governor, Aiyedatiwa, has stated that the government will be procuring more equipment for security agencies, including trackers and drones.

The attacks have left residents of the community in fear and shock. The government has assured the people that it is committed to ensuring their safety and will continue to work with security agencies to apprehend those responsible for the attacks.
Another survivor, Solomon Simon, recalled that the attack occurred around 2 am.
