In a troubling development, armed bandits have attacked a Primary Healthcare Centre in Layin Dan Auta village, Kuyello Ward, Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area, Kaduna State. The attackers abducted two nurses and several patients receiving medical care at the facility.
The audacious attack has stirred anger and worry among locals and government figures. Abbas Tajudeen, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, denounced the atrocious act and urged security agencies to swiftly step in and secure the release of the abducted individuals.
In a statement, the speaker's media aide, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, quoted Mr. Abbas expressing deep concern over the escalating boldness of bandits and kidnappers in their criminal activities. The recent surge in banditry and kidnappings, especially targeting vulnerable sites like healthcare facilities, has raised significant alarm.
Mr. Abbas called for immediate and resolute actions by security forces to locate the culprits and ensure the safe return of the abducted from the medical center. He emphasized the urgent need for security forces to act promptly to rescue all victims of kidnappings nationwide, stressing the intolerability of leaving individuals in the hands of criminals.
