The Ogun State Government has announced a partnership with Viewpoint Health Management Services Limited and OAN African Capital Holdings to complete and operate a 250-bed specialist hospital in Abeokuta.
The hospital, located on Presidential Boulevard, is expected to provide world-class healthcare services to residents of Ogun State and beyond.
Governor Dapo Abiodun stated that the hospital, currently 65% complete, will commence partial operations in March 2025, with full operations expected by June 2025. The governor emphasized the project's significance, stating that it aligns with the state government's commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure and accessibility.
The partnership with Viewpoint Health Management Services Limited, which is working with HealthShare South Africa, a reputable hospital management company, is expected to bring valuable expertise and resources to the project.
The new specialist hospital will be equipped with advanced facilities and cutting-edge technology to provide comprehensive healthcare services. It will also serve as a referral center for medical research, training, and innovation. The facility will be affiliated with the Abuja Medical Centre of Excellence, managed by King's College Hospital, further enhancing its capabilities and access to international expertise.
Governor Abiodun expressed optimism that the hospital, upon its opening in the first quarter of 2025, will significantly reduce medical tourism and contribute to the growth of the state's and nation's healthcare sector. Viewpoint Health Management Services Limited will oversee the completion of the hospital's physical structure, equipment setup, and ongoing operations.
